Description

Anton Bruckner’s little-known and final setting of Ave Maria for alto and organ (or harmonium) from 1882 is a neglected gem whose intimate devotions find a distilled mystery in the happy combination of plainsong and the bold chromatic shifts of his last symphonies. Serenity of line and an easy control is required by the trumpet player. Don’t play it too slowly!
