‘I wrote this Sonata for Matthew Gee in 2015 after he played the little concerto I also wrote for him, Circus Games. I was keen to add to the relatively small trombone repertoire with a ‘proper’ sonata, which while fairly demanding, is also satisfying to play for both performers.’
