Montague is a beautiful, peaceful, and secluded town on the coast of White Lake (adjacent to Lake Michigan) where trombone players from far and wide come to focus on improving their skills in a distraction-free environment. From the Retreat\u2019s small beginnings, Nick and John now attract world class artists who give lessons, performances, and deliver master classes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In writing the piece I wanted to compose something that was worthy of the Retreat\u2019s ambitions, which would showcase the abilities of these two incredible players, and highlight their instruments\u2019 capabilities. The work starts intimately and continually grows in rhythm, harmony, and structure.
