The first contrasts broad, flowing, lyrical music mainly in 9\/8, with colder, distantly chiming sounds and a hint of the dance. The last, &#8216;Piccola Scena Amorosa&#8217; presents the violin and horn consummating their passion, as it were, discreetly supported by harmonies in the piano.
