Description

Four Songs, opus 29 are a collection of songs written in 1894 and first published the following year. The opus number distinction is important in this case as it was not the first time Beach published a group of the same name. Indeed she wrote over 150 songs during her lifetime, largely in the romantic style of the day. Her superb keyboard facility is evident in the writing of these songs – the interplay between voice and piano is truly beautiful. They have been transcribed here for trombone (or bass trombone) and piano.

  2. The Wandering Knight
  3. Sleep Little Darling
  4. Haste, O Beloved

This arrangement was premiered at the British Trombone Festival, October 2023.
